According to France 24, the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Morocco on Sunday, with World Cup qualification and a record first prize of two million dollars on the line.

The tournament will feature a record 16 nations, increasing from 12 teams at the previous edition.

Nigeria enter the competition as both the defending champions and the team to beat. They have won the title 10 times.
