46 passengers miraculously escape death after massive bus fire in Luxor

Forty-six passengers, including six children, miraculously escaped death after a massive fire engulfed a bus they were traveling in on the western desert road in Luxor Governorate, Egypt. The bus was carrying passengers from Cairo to eastern Sudan.

Major General Mohamed El-Sawy, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Luxor Security, received a report from the operations room of the security directorate stating that a bus had caught fire on the western desert road near Naj El-Baraka, carrying 46 Sudanese passengers.

Civil protection forces, with several fire engines, and 6 ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Officers from the Qurna Police Station also arrived at the scene of the fire.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by a spark in the bus engine. The fire was brought under control.

A report was filed regarding the incident and the Public Prosecution was notified to conduct investigations.
