A 29-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Soho, central London, where a car struck several pedestrians on Sunday morning. Gabrielle Carrington, of Broadfield Road, Manchester, was remanded into custody after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

According to BBC News, Carrington faces multiple charges, including grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink-driving. The incident left one woman, Klaudia Zakrzewska, in a life-threatening condition, while another man in his 50s and a third woman sustained serious and minor injuries, respectively.

Carrington, who gained fame as a member of the X Factor group Miss Dynamix in 2013, was reportedly found to have 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath at the time of her arrest. The Metropolitan Police received reports of the incident at around 04:30 BST on Argyll Street, near Oxford Circus.

During the court hearing, family and friends of Zakrzewska were present, and she remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital. Carrington’s next court appearance is set for 19 May at the Old Bailey. The deputy chief crown prosecutor emphasized the importance of a fair trial and cautioned against any prejudicial reporting regarding the case.
