According to ABC News, Travis Head’s eighth one-day international century guided Australia to an 84-run win over Zimbabwe in the second ODI in Harare, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
After Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza sent Australia in, Head and captain Mitch Marsh put on 130 for the opening wicket. Head made 112 from 84 balls for his first century since last summer’s Ashes, while Marsh scored 63 from 53 deliveries.
Cooper Connolly, batting at number three, added 78 off 69 balls and was the only other Australian to pass 50. The tourists finished on 6-356.
Zimbabwe came through the powerplay without losing a wicket but were two down by the 16th over. Part-time spinner Matt Renshaw removed openers Brian Bennett for 23 and Ben Curran for 30.
Josh Hazlewood, Connolly and Adam Zampa took two wickets each as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 272. Australia also had an injury concern when fast bowler Billy Stanlake pulled up lame in his fourth over and did not return.
