According to BBC News, Cam Little kicked a 57-yard field goal in the final second to give the Jacksonville Jaguars a 19-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in NFL London.
The Jaguars had fallen behind with eight seconds left when the Eagles made a 48-yard field goal. Ameer Abdullah then returned the ball 53 yards before being tackled with one second remaining, giving 23-year-old Little the chance to complete the decisive kick. Little removed his helmet and ran towards the end of the pitch with his arms outstretched before celebrating with team-mates.
The opening kick-off brought early drama. Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr and Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr were ejected for fighting. Josh Cameron’s 90-yard kick-off touchdown for Jacksonville was nullified by penalties after Trotter appeared to shove his opponent to the ground before seeming to receive a kick in return.
Jacksonville wide receiver Parker Washington scored in the first quarter, but Philadelphia led 14-3 at half-time following touchdowns by third-choice running back Will Shipley and wide receiver Darius Cooper. The Eagles were without their top two running backs, Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby.
Little’s 34-yard field goal narrowed the gap in the third quarter. Parker Washington then scored on a 27-yard touchdown to put the Jaguars 16-14 ahead with three minutes and 20 seconds remaining, although Little missed the extra point. Jake Elliott’s late field goal looked set to win it for Philadelphia before Jacksonville’s special teams created the final opportunity.
The Jaguars extended their winning streak to three matches and sit top of the AFC South early in round five with a 4-1 record. The Eagles have lost three in a row and are second in the NFC South, with both of their wins coming in their opening two fixtures.
