According to ABC News, A Country Practice was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame on August 16, receiving a standing ovation during the 2026 awards ceremony. The Australian television program became the second Hall of Fame inductee of the night, after Deb Mailman.

Pat Daven, son of the show’s creator James Daven, accepted the honour. He said his father had come through the ABC before creating A Country Practice. After leaving the broadcaster, James Daven submitted the idea to a writing competition, where it came third, Pat Daven said. The program later became a television schedule staple with fans across the country.

“Dad would’ve wanted to thank each and every one of you on stage and since he isn’t here to do it I will, thank you,” Pat Daven said. “This award belongs to you as much as it belonged to him.” ABC News described Molly’s death as one of Australian television’s most heartbreaking losses, and noted that Shane Withington and Anne Tenney were interviewed for the first time about their off-screen relationship last year.

The ceremony also awarded the 2026 Australian Open the Logie for Best Sports Coverage. Dylan Alcott and Todd Woodbridge were among those accepting the award. Have You Been Paying Attention? won Best Comedy Entertainment Program for a third consecutive year, while Celia Pacquola won Best Lead Actress in a Comedy for Dog Park and Steve Bisley won Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for Deadloch.
