A mother and daughter’s celebration of multicultural family life will take centre stage in Paddington this November, with the launch of Izabella Rockafella…My World, Our World by Liz and Izabella Deep-Jones.
Families and book lovers are invited to join the authors at Paddington Uniting Church on Tuesday, 17 November 2026, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, for an evening celebrating identity, belonging and the cultures that connect us.
According to the organisers, the book will be launched by Simone Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of UN Women Australia.
Written by Liz and her daughter when Izabella was ten, the book draws on their multicultural family, bringing together Australian, Lebanese, Irish, Chinese, Chilean and Greek connections. Through a child’s perspective, it explores the joy of growing up with different traditions and the questions that can arise along the way.
The book also invites young readers to explore their own family stories, with opportunities to record favourite foods, traditions and cultural backgrounds. Featuring photographs, a foreword and endorsement from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, it encourages children to take pride in who they are and appreciate the people around them.
