Arabic version: الجزيرة تتناول قضية الإبادة الجماعية في غزة

According to Al Jazeera, a new 25-minute programme examines Gaza through the legal and political framework of genocide, while allegations are argued before international courts. The episode considers the conflict through the perspectives of Palestinian victims, Israel and third states as they frame the intent and nature of the violence.

The programme traces how decades of occupation, blockade and repeated wars created conditions of confinement, dependency and dehumanisation before the war that began on October 7, 2023. It examines displacement orders, siege tactics, infrastructure destruction and AI-assisted targeting, and how these factors have shaped the scale and pattern of killing and destruction.

Drawing on testimony, military analysis and legal argument, the episode follows the genocide case and the questions it raises about accountability and deterrence. It says the International Court of Justice has warned of a “plausible risk” of genocide, while not yet ruling on whether genocide has been committed.

The programme also considers what the unfolding legal battle could mean for Gaza’s people and for future efforts to address the violence. Al Jazeera published “Gaza: Genocide in Real Time?” on September 7, 2026.
