The World Lebanese Cultural Union (WLCU) – Oceania took part in the annual Ramadan Iftar hosted by City View Receptions, continuing a cherished tradition that brings together leaders and members of Sydney’s diverse community.

As he does each year during the holy month, businessman and owner of City View Receptions, Mr Tony Bou Melhem — who is also an active member of the Union — welcomed a wide cross-section of the community to a warm and generous Iftar gathering. The evening brought together religious leaders, media representatives, community organisations, associations, and political figures in a spirit of unity and shared reflection.

Representing the ALCU at the event was a distinguished delegation led by Continental President Mr Buddy El Hajj. He was joined by Secretary-General Dr Imad Berro, Continental Vice President Mr Remy Wehbe, President of the North-East Sydney Branch Mr Hassan Abdulrahman, along with a strong presence of respected community members.

Their participation highlighted the important cultural and social role played by the WLCU within the Lebanese diaspora across Australia. The delegation reflected a vibrant nucleus of individuals committed to strengthening community bonds and promoting cultural engagement.

The evening was marked by a sense of togetherness and mutual respect, reinforcing the values of generosity and hospitality that define Ramadan. It also served as a meaningful opportunity for dialogue and connection among Sydney’s multicultural leadership.

Events such as this annual Iftar continue to play a vital role in fostering unity and collaboration within the broader community, while celebrating the rich cultural and spiritual traditions that shape the Lebanese-Australian experience.
