Arabic version: مقتل شخصين بانفجار مركبة محمّلة بالذخيرة في إدلب السورية

According to Al Jazeera, a vehicle loaded with ammunition exploded in the town of Binnish in the Idlib countryside of northwestern Syria, killing at least two people and wounding five others.

The Idlib Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate described the casualty figure as preliminary. Syrian authorities and a security source quoted by the official SANA news agency reported that the vehicle had been carrying ammunition.

Turkiye’s Anadolu agency reported that two civilians were killed and at least eight others were injured. It also said two vehicles near the blast were destroyed.

Emergency response teams were sent to the scene, while wounded people were taken to nearby hospitals. The Syrian Human Rights Observatory said the explosions caused panic among residents.

The monitor said ammunition continued to explode after the initial incident, raising the risk of further blasts as well as flying ammunition and shrapnel. Syria’s Al-Ikhbariya television had earlier reported an explosion in Binnish, with authorities working to determine its nature. Syrian media gave no further details on the cause of the blast or who owned the vehicle.
