Arabic version: تراجع احتمالات الطرح العام الأولي لشركة أنثروبيك على كالشي
According to Cnbc, prediction-market odds that Anthropic will announce an initial public offering declined sharply as AI-related stocks sold off following Democratic victories in Congress and key governorships.
On Kalshi, the chance that Anthropic would announce an IPO before December fell to 57% from more than 85% over the past week. Odds of the company announcing a public offering before January dropped to 68% from 90%. The contract concerns when Anthropic officially announces an IPO and is to be verified by news outlets. Anthropic confidentially filed its IPO prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June.
The repricing followed investor concerns that Democratic control of both chambers of Congress could slow data-center construction and weaken the appeal of AI investments. Texas Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa, a Democrat who defeated three-term Republican Greg Abbott, campaigned for tighter protocols governing data-center development in the state.
“We will have laws to protect Texans and we need to stop what we are doing with data centers until we have those protections,” Hinojosa told CNN on Thursday. The Nasdaq Composite closed Thursday more than 10% below its most recent high, while the S&P 500 fell 4.4% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost more than 1,800 points, or 3.4%. On Friday, Micron Technology and Nvidia each rose about 4%, while CoreWeave gained more than 2% after recent declines.
