Arab Council Australia is deeply concerned about the upcoming event organised by the Australian Jewish Association (AJA) platforming Israeli political figure Moshe Feiglin, who has openly espoused genocidal rhetoric.

The CEO of Arab Council Australia, Mr Hassan Moussa said:

“It is deeply concerning that the AJA, a registered Australian community organisation who regularly disseminate anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, and anti-Muslim rhetoric online, are platforming this person who has referred to Palestinians as ‘parasites’, has advocated for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza, and has been previously denounced by a broad spectrum of the Australian Jewish community.

“By AJA amplifying the dangerous views of Feiglin and other anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab voices they are consciously normalising racist discourse and threatening the social cohesion of Australia’s multicultural community.

“Compounding this concern is the fact that the AJA operate the Australian Jewish Association Tzedakah (AJAT) charity, listed on the Register of Harm Prevention Charities in Australia.

“Charities play a pivotal role in fostering social cohesion, addressing the needs of vulnerable populations, and supporting those facing discrimination and hardship. The actions of AJA, and consequently AJAT, not only contradict the fundamental values of respect and compassion that charities should embody, but also risk legitimising harmful ideologies that undermine our community’s social fabric.

“We call on political leaders to take any necessary measures to ensure that Australian charitable organisations uphold the highest standards of inclusivity and respect in their activities.”
