Armed police have been deployed in Edinburgh following reports of a man wielding a bladed weapon. Authorities are urging the public to steer clear of the Calders area due to concerns over potential stabbings.

Emergency services have been active in the vicinity between Sighthill and Wester Hailes since before 09:00. According to BBC News, local residents have indicated that multiple individuals may have been injured in the incident.

William Ramsay, a resident, reported that the suspect had entered the stairwell of his building and allegedly vandalized a local shop. He mentioned that there were unconfirmed reports of stabbings involving two individuals. The scene has been heavily monitored by armed police and police dogs for approximately two hours.
