Sydney’s Lebanese and Arab communities are invited to a special literary and cultural evening celebrating the launch of “Arzat Aataba” (أرزة عتابا), the new poetry collection by Charbel Maroun Taouk, on Friday, 9 October 2026.

The event will take place at Bsharri Hall, 14 Coronation Parade, Enfield, commencing at 7:00 PM.

Known for his connection to the traditional Lebanese poetic form of Aataba, Charbel Maroun Taouk will officially launch and sign his new collection, “Arzat Aataba”, a title that brings together two powerful symbols of Lebanese culture: the enduring cedar and one of Lebanon’s most cherished forms of folk poetry.

The evening promises to be more than a traditional book launch, with organisers preparing a distinguished literary and artistic program celebrating poetry, culture and heritage.

Guests will have an opportunity to come together in an atmosphere that honours the rich tradition of spoken and written Arabic poetry while supporting a local poet dedicated to preserving and sharing this important part of Lebanese cultural identity.

The program will conclude with refreshments, providing attendees with an opportunity to meet the poet and fellow members of the community.

The event is open to the public, and everyone with an appreciation for poetry, literature, Lebanese heritage and the arts is warmly encouraged to attend.
