According to Al Jazeera, Syrian icon Assala Nasri returned to perform in Damascus after more than 15 years in exile.

Thousands of people cheered as they welcomed Nasri at a sold-out concert in the Syrian capital.

Known as the “Daughter of Damascus”, Nasri had spent more than 15 years outside Syria after publicly supporting the 2011 uprising against the government of Bashar al-Assad.
