According to Al Jazeera, Balad party leader Sami Abu Shehadeh has withdrawn from the October 27 Knesset election after Israel’s Supreme Court warned it could issue a ruling disqualifying him.

The withdrawal concerns Abu Shehadeh’s bid in the upcoming Knesset election.

Last week, the Israeli elections committee voted to disqualify the country’s two main Arab-majority parties.
