The BBC will broadcast the final two matches of the World Cup live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, the broadcaster has confirmed.
According to BBC News, England lost 2-1 to Argentina in Wednesday’s semi-final, a day after France were beaten 2-0 by Spain. Saturday’s third-place play-off between England and France will kick off at 22:00 BST and Sunday’s final will see Argentina face Spain with a 20:00 BST kick-off.
Both matches will be shown live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer – and there will be live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live. ITV will also broadcast the final live. The BBC Sport website will have the TV and radio coverage for both matches, plus live text commentary and in-game highlights, and both games will also be available in ultra high definition (UHD).
The BBC Sport website will have its Fifa World Cup 3D experience available too. Viewers can take total control of the angles and can relive goals as your favourite player – plus watch tactics unfold in real time – with side-by-side stats and player data.
Saturday’s match, which is now known as the bronze final, will decide third place, with the final the following day deciding the tournament champion. The listed broadcast and online options set out how viewers can watch the closing fixtures and follow live coverage across TV, radio and digital platforms.
What happens next: Saturday’s bronze final kicks off at 22:00 BST, followed by the final between Argentina and Spain at 20:00 BST on Sunday, with both matches available on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
