With a severe heatwave warning and predicted temperatures of 42°C for Greater Sydney, City of Canterbury Bankstown is extending hours across pools and libraries on Saturday 10 January.
Leisure & Aquatic Centres will remain open until 8pm:
- Roselands Leisure & Aquatic Centre
- Birrong Leisure & Aquatic Centre
- Max Parker Leisure & Aquatic Centre
- Greenacre Splash Park
Library and Knowledge Centres will remain open until 6pm:
- Bankstown Leisure and Knowledge Centre
- Campsie Library and Knowledge Centre
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said it’s going to be a real scorcher and expected the community to take full advantage of the extended operating hours.
“Many families will be hitting our pools to stay cool and it makes perfect sense to keep them open longer,” he said.
“I urge everyone attending our facilities to have patience and stay safe.”
