Jamil may have an unusual profession, but he has been doing it for 12 years and teaching the art for 9. Jamil identifies as Middle Eastern and is a male Arabic dancer and belly dancer while living in Australia has danced around the world from China to Europe.
Jamil’s dance style is authentically original. His dance style combines the strength of the Lebanese style, fluidity of the Egyptian style, and isolation of the Turkish style to create a uniquely masculine approach to the belly dance genre. The use of Veil and saaidi cane further enhances his ability to captivate an audience and enthrall them in his enjoyable interpretation of the oriental rhythm and beats.
Jamil’s professional career was boosted in 2004 when he studied professionally at Ameras Palace and began working in his first restaurant as a full-time performer. Since then, Jamil has been sought after as a renowned artist and has performed at esteemed functions and concerts. In late 2005, Jamil became a dance instructor and choreographer and currently teaches both independently and under the guidance of Ameras palace. He is also the head choreographer of the ATTAR troupe.
