Arabic version: بيفرلي كالارد تغادر برنامج الواقع بعد أزمة صحية
According to BBC News,
Beverley Callard, renowned for her role in Coronation Street, has exited the ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… South Africa after collapsing in the jungle camp, before she was diagnosed with cancer. The actress, who revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in February, shared her emotional experience with fans through social media, stating that she had passed out after feeling unwell.
Callard expressed her disappointment at having to leave the show, saying she was “absolutely gutted” and wanted to prove that older women could succeed in the competition.
In a heartfelt Instagram video, the 69-year-old actress recounted how she lost consciousness while trying to participate in the show. Medical staff advised her against returning to the camp, which led to her emotional departure. Callard acknowledged that she was unaware of her cancer diagnosis at that time, but recognized it as a pivotal moment in her journey.
Fellow contestants, including Scarlett Moffatt, expressed their support for Callard, with Moffatt stating that her health was more important than the competition. Callard remains optimistic, declaring, “I will beat this.”
The episode also featured tensions between contestants Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard, as Bullard’s decision to forfeit a challenge resulted in Thomas’s elimination. This added to the drama of the episode, but Callard’s health concerns took center stage, highlighting the serious nature of her situation.
