Local artists, businesses and property owners have the opportunity to transform Parramatta’s streets and public spaces, with funding now available as part of the 2026 Vibrant Parramatta program supporting projects that bring colour, creativity and character to the City.

Now in its second year, the grant program offers up to $100,000 in funding to support projects that enhance the visual appeal and cultural identity of Parramatta through wall-art murals, decorative lighting installations, façade improvements and heritage façade restorations.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the program is helping bring new life to local suburbs while celebrating the City’s growing creative culture.

“Vibrant Parramatta is about working with our community to create places that people are proud of and excited to visit,” Cr Zaiter said.

“Whether it’s a beautiful mural, decorative lighting or heritage restoration, these projects help strengthen the unique character of our neighbourhoods and support local businesses by creating more attractive and engaging streetscapes.

“We’re encouraging property owners, businesses and artists to get involved and help transform our City, one building at a time.”

The program supports projects in local centres, town centres and high-foot traffic areas, including the Parramatta CBD, creating opportunities for local artists to contribute to the City’s cultural landscape while helping property owners revitalise their buildings.

Vibrant Parramatta delivered three large-scale murals at Ermington Shopping Centre, Betty Cuthbert Avenue and Sorrell Street, as well as a façade improvement project on Wigram Street last year.

Artists are also invited to submit expressions of interest to create original mural designs that reflect Parramatta’s stories, people and places.

Applications from property owners and artist expressions of interest are now open and close on 6 October 2026.
