According to ABC News, defending premier Brisbane will face the Sydney Roosters in the NRLW grand final after beating the Gold Coast Titans 20-8 at Robina in the preliminary final.

The victory was Brisbane’s fifth in a row and secured the club’s fifth grand-final appearance. The Broncos have won all four NRLW deciders they have previously contested. Their meeting with the Roosters next Sunday will also be the final match before Broncos legend Ali Brigginshaw retires.

Brisbane built a 20-4 lead through a four-try opening half, with Tamika Upton, Jesse Southwell and Romy Teitzel prominent. Upton beat three Titans defenders to score the opening try, before Southwell sent Teitzel through a gap. Upton later set up back-rower Lauren Dam, while Teitzel created a try for winger Julia Robinson.

Gold Coast had won its previous 10 matches but conceded three early penalties. Evania Isa’ako produced a cutout pass for Destiny Mino-Sinapati’s first-half try, and Isa’ako later collected her own ricocheted grubber kick after the break. Brisbane’s defence, however, held firm.

Titans lock Sienna Lofipo was ruled out late in the first half with a suspected broken jaw, while full-back Lily Patston left the field in the second half for a category one HIA. The Titans’ season under coach Karyn Murphy ended after they were unable to find their best form in the preliminary final.
