Dear community,

We all want to be heard, and young people are no exception.

So, if you are one of the more than 65,000 amazing young people aged 12-24 in Canterbury-Bankstown, I want to hear from you.

This year’s Youth Week will give you the chance to speak up.

The events have been designed with input from our Youth Advisory Group. This group, made up of young people just like you, tells me and Council what they want to see around our City.

But we want to hear from even more young people.

So, we’re holding events like ‘Raise your voice’ at Bankstown Library, where you can tell us what you want from your library.  Activities? Events? Clubs? It’s a real chance to be heard and influence the direction of library programming.

Come along to Battle of the Beats to hear in music and song what is important to musicians your age. Visit our Career Expo not only to learn about new careers and training, but to talk about what you need from the world of work.

Take a break with fun events like an Amazing Race, silent disco or mindful art and movement.

All these activities and opportunities (and more) will give you the chance to speak up and let us know what matters to you.

Youth Week runs from 16-26 April in NSW, but our events start 9 April. Get involved at cb.city/YouthWeek

Warm Regards,
Mayor Bilal El‑Hayek
