Dear Resident,

It’s no secret that our City is the perfect destination to enjoy international cuisine. Nowhere else in the world can you experience traditional Lebanese banquets, Indian flavours, Filipino home cooking, and Malay delicacies, all in the one place!

And what better way to finish off a nice meal than with some freshly baked, tantalising sweets.

COVID lockdowns have taken a toll on our local food businesses, but Bankstown Bites is back and after a two-year hiatus, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

Bankstown Bites is a significant event on the foodies’ calendar, and each July, Olympic Parade in Bankstown is transformed into an explosion of unique food and culture. It’s been showcasing the rich, culinary flavours of our City since 2005, and is visited by more than 10,000 people each year.

The event attracts visitors from across the country and an impressive line-up of internationally renowned chefs.

This year, we’ll be joined by presenter of Good Chef, Bad Chef Adrian Richardson and MasterChef’s Fans and Favourites contestant Alvin Quah, as they cook up a storm on stage and teach audiences the secrets of their signature dishes.

Whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer savoury foods, there’ll be something for you with the huge variety of food stalls; Filipino, Indian, Turkish, Asian, Japanese, Mexican, Spanish, Portuguese, Egyptian, Italian and Thai.

And for a small fee, our tantalising tasting tours will take you on a journey through local businesses in our City.

So, join me and taste some of the delicious foods our City has to offer. Bankstown Bites kicks off on Saturday 30 July, from 10am-5pm. It all takes place on Olympic Parade and there’ll also be a range of activities at the Bankstown Arts Centre, between 10am-4pm.
