Canterbury Bankstown Mayoral Message

Date

Spread the love

Canterbury-Bankstown has always tingled with a dynamic energy, and after a challenging pandemic period, the buzz is certainly coming back. I’m really excited to see the community getting involved and our City coming back to life with lots to do, see, eat and discover during these summer months.
And I’m thrilled that the Sydney Symphony Orchestra is coming to Bankstown and will be performing some of their world-renowned compositions on Saturday 19 February at Paul Keating Park.
The world class orchestra will delight locals with their energy and musical talents, showcasing the lightness of Mozart and Tchaikovsky, capping off with the bigger and more dramatic works of Beethoven and Brahms.
The City will no doubt be rocking to these triumphant sounds – definitely a night not to be missed and a rare opportunity for us to experience the magic of classical live music right in our own back yard.
So, grab your picnic baskets and blankets and make a night of it.
We also have other exciting events planned in February. From our enticing Night Noodle Market at Campsie’s Anzac Street Mall on Friday 18 February, all to pay further tribute to the 2022 Lunar New Year… to the incredible artworks in Bankstown Arts Centre.
This latest exhibition, Cultural Cartography, is running online and at the Arts Centre from Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm, until 20 February 2022.
I would encourage everyone to go down to Bankstown Arts Centre and experience the different perspectives of Asian-Australian culture. What a perfect time to observe and learn about these cultures, during Lunar New Year!
