Celebrating Excellence at the First National Daystar Blue & White Presentation Night

On Saturday, 26th October, the First National Daystar Blue & White Presentation Night took place, marking a special occasion for the Canterbury-Bankstown District Rugby League Referees Association. Held at the home of the Association’s major sponsor, Canterbury League Club, the event brought together sponsors, members, and special guests to celebrate the 2024 rugby league season’s achievements both on and off the field.

The Presentation Night was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the support and contributions from their valued sponsors and special guests, including:

  • Steve Clapson – NSW Rugby League Referees
  • Paul Davis and Michael Sleiman – First National Daystar Real Estate
  • Geoff Dib – Brickwood Homes
  • John Grealy – Canterbury-Bankstown Junior Rugby League
  • Kevin Greene – NSW Rugby League Referees
  • John Khoury – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
  • Di Langmack – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
  • Yvette Hassarati – Canterbury Referees Honorary Member for Life

The event honoured the outstanding efforts of members throughout the 2024 season, recognising those who have excelled in various capacities. The following awards were presented during the evening:

  • Leo Randle Award (Distinguished Service Award)Bob Garwood

Additionally, David Abood was re-presented with Life Membership (#67) as recognition for his unwavering dedication and commitment to the Association.

The Presentation Night was an opportunity to highlight not only the exceptional skills displayed on the field but also the community spirit that drives the sport forward. The Association expresses heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, including sponsors, members, and special guests, whose support helps rugby league thrive in Canterbury-Bankstown.
