According to BBC News, South African side Cheetahs will play their European Challenge Cup home matches this season at St Helen’s in Swansea, the home of Welsh side Ospreys.

Cheetahs will host Dragons on Sunday, 13 December, and Perpignan on Sunday, 17 January. Both fixtures are scheduled for the day after Ospreys home matches in the same competition.

The side has traditionally used Europe as a base for games in the second-tier tournament. Its matches in the 2025-26 season were played in Amsterdam.

Ospreys and Cheetahs have existing links through Y11 Sports & Media, which owns a majority stake in the Welsh club and retains an investment interest in the South African team. Players have also moved between the two sides.

Ospreys managing director Richard Lancaster said the club was grateful to the WRU for permission to host the matches and welcomed the opportunity to build on the relationship. Cheetahs director of rugby Frans Steyn said the team was looking forward to making the redeveloped stadium its European home.
