Penny Wong has announced that China has agreed to facilitate exports of jet fuel to Australia, addressing ongoing supply disruptions. This development comes as the country grapples with rising fuel costs and a tight market.
According to The Guardian, the announcement was part of broader efforts to stabilize the fuel supply chain in light of recent challenges.
The Bondi royal commission has also released an interim report indicating that while no significant legal gaps were found that impeded counter-terrorism efforts, there is potential for improvement in capabilities at both Commonwealth and state levels. The report includes recommendations for enhancing procedures related to high-risk events and a proposal for a counter-terrorism exercise involving national cabinet members.
As Australia faces these multifaceted challenges, including escalating costs of living and a volatile rental market, the government’s response to the royal commission’s findings and the collaboration with China on fuel exports will be closely watched.
