Arabic version: كوميديا الإغاثة 2024 تضم مشاهد وأداءات مليئة بالنجوم
Comic Relief is set to return with an exciting lineup for its 2024 event, featuring sketches from popular TV shows and performances by notable artists. This year’s show will include a parody of the hit reality series, The Traitors, with Anna Friel starring as host Claudia Winkleman. Alongside Friel, contestants from the show, including Rachel Duffy and Faraaz Noor, will also make appearances.
According to BBC News, the special will highlight The Traitors: The Movie – The Sequel, which follows the success of 2024’s first instalment. This segment will feature Iain Stirling, who returns to portray this year’s joint winner Stephen Libby, alongside other celebrities such as Scott Mills and Alison Steadman, who will be depicted as the real contestants they portray.
The live broadcast will take place at MediaCityUK in Salford on Friday, 20 March, starting at 19:00 GMT. For the first time, the show will be available for simultaneous live streaming on the official BBC YouTube channel, in addition to being aired on BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
Other highlights of the evening include a comedic bank heist sketch featuring Idris Elba and a rather literal interpretation of the comedy series Amandaland, which will see various famous Amandas join the fun. Additionally, singer-songwriter Calum Scott will perform during the event.
The event will be hosted by Davina McCall and feature presenters from the comedy world, including Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Joel Dommett, and Catherine Tate (as Nan from The Catherine Tate Show). Comic Relief, which began in 1985, continues to fund programs that address poverty and social injustice, having raised over £1.6 billion since its inception.
