According to ABC News, Queensland Reds prop Massimo De Lutiis has been named on the bench for the Wallabies’ second Test against Japan in Townsville on Saturday. If he takes the field, De Lutiis will become the 1,000th Wallaby capped.

Coach Les Kiss has made several changes for his second match in charge. Carter Gordon returns at fly half in place of Declan Meredith, while Isaac Henry will make his starting debut at outside centre after Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii was injured. Lock Lachlan Shaw is also set for a starting debut alongside Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, who returns to Test rugby.

Angus Bell and Taniela Tupou are back in the starting side after second-half appearances in Osaka. Charlie Cale and Carlo Tizzano join captain Harry Wilson in the back row, with Fraser McReight on the bench and Rob Valetini out of the 23. Replacement hooker Brandon Paenga-Amosa and backline cover Filipo Daugunu have also been included.

Kiss said the selection sought balance after a physically demanding week in Japan. “The coaches have looked to find some balance in the selection after what was a physically taxing Test week in the heat in Japan,” he said.
