South Sudanese telecommunications company Digitel has introduced voice and social media bundles aimed at helping customers stay connected as rising mobile tariffs put pressure on communication costs.
The privately owned company is promoting the packages as affordable options for making calls across networks and accessing social media, with customers able to choose a subscription that suits their budget.
Voice calls across networks
Digitel’s Mia Mia voice bundle allows subscribers to make calls to all networks. Customers can access the offer by dialling *145*4# and selecting a package.
Call rates and the number of minutes available depend on the subscription chosen. The company says its communication services are intended to strengthen connections between people and support business activity.
Social media packages
Digitel has also announced social media bundles designed to give subscribers more options for staying online. Customers can dial *175# to browse the available packages and choose their preferred option.
The company is presenting these bundles as a way to make social media access more affordable and help users remain connected for longer.
The offers come against a backdrop of increased tariffs across mobile networks operating in South Sudan, which have made communication more expensive. For subscribers, the cost and allowance attached to the package they select will determine how much calling time or social media access they receive.
