The brand-new website and reimagined City brand was unveiled by Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek at a launch event at Bankstown Arts Centre last night (Wednesday 22 May).

Mayor El-Hayek expressed that the Where Interesting Happens brand is all about spreading the word on everything that makes Canterbury-Bankstown so incredible.

“Whether you’ve lived in Canterbury-Bankstown your whole life, only visited a couple of times, or never been before, there are so many hidden gems to uncover in this vibrant City,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“Our vision is to highlight the best of Canterbury-Bankstown for those seeking unique, fun and enriching experiences – drawing in more people and bolstering the local economy.

“Our new website showcases the cultural richness, natural wonders and most importantly, the incredible stories of the people who call our amazing City home.”

Greenacre local, Oz from The Block 2022, supported the launch of the new destination brand and said he’s proud to truly call Canterbury-Bankstown home.

“I love the diverse community – you go out to every corner and there’s a story to be told,” Oz said.

Oz fondly recalls growing up in the area and getting together with friends and family over food and a game of footy.

“My favourite hidden gem is the DMC Bakery out at Greenacre – absolutely amazing food there!

“Jump on the new website that we just launched and expect the unexpected in Canterbury-Bankstown.”
