Dr. Nevine Bassiouni praised the historic visit by the Chinese president to Egypt, saying it marks an important milestone in the course of Egyptian–Chinese relations and reflects the depth of the strategic partnership between Cairo and Beijing. She added that the visit will strengthen opportunities for joint cooperation across various fields.
Dr. Bassiouni explained that the visit coincides with the seventieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, which underscores the strength and resilience of ties between the two countries and opens new avenues to enhance economic, investment, and trade cooperation for the mutual benefit of the Egyptian and Chinese peoples.
She said that deepening the Egyptian–Chinese partnership can contribute to supporting international efforts to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, advancing development pathways, exchanging expertise, and attracting greater investment, as well as expanding cooperation in sectors of shared interest.
Dr. Bassiouni emphasized that the visit represents an important step toward broadening the horizons of cooperation and integration between Cairo and Beijing in ways that serve common interests and support stability and development in the region. She noted Egypt’s strategic position as a principal gateway to Africa and the Middle East.
She also pointed out that Egypt’s economic and strategic assets, together with its political and security stability, strengthen its ability to attract international investment and reinforce its pivotal role in building strong, balanced partnerships with countries around the world.
