A 56-year-old woman was arrested in Cheney, Washington, after she allegedly attempted to hit a young boy riding his bicycle. Police released footage showing the driver pursuing the child on a sidewalk before re-entering the road and fleeing the scene.

According to BBC News, the boy managed to escape without injury, although his mother reported that he was shaken and scared from the encounter. Jennifer Taylor, the boy’s mother, expressed her concerns, stating, “He thought for sure she was going to run him over.”

The driver, identified as Wendy Clemente, now faces multiple charges, including assault and drink-driving. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, which has raised alarm among local residents regarding safety in their neighborhood.
