According to ABC News, a 24-year-old woman tested positive for methylamphetamine after a BMW sedan crashed into Wise Guys Pizza ‘n’ Pasta on Kings Way in South Melbourne overnight.

Emergency services were called to the business about 12:50am following reports that the car had struck the shop. Victoria Police said the woman, from The Patch, lost control of the vehicle and ploughed into the store near the corner of Park Road.

Nobody was inside the pizza shop at the time and the driver was not injured. Police said the business suffered extensive damage.

The woman was also wanted over an outstanding warrant, police said, and officers allegedly found her in possession of cannabis. She is expected to be charged with drug driving and possessing a drug of dependence.

Police have asked witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
