According to BBC News, claims by Earl Spencer about comments made by King Charles III after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, feature prominently on several Sunday front pages ahead of publication of the earl’s book about his sister.

The Mail on Sunday leads with the headline “It’s not every day you get gaslit by the King”, after Buckingham Palace said that fraternal grief could “colour memory”. The paper reports that the “furious” earl has rejected claims that he is writing the memoir for money and said Diana would be “cheering from the rafters”.

The Sunday Times carries comments from unnamed friends of the King, who it says called Earl Spencer a “hypocrite” who is “peddling Diana’s privacy”. Its front page also includes a cartoon of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reading the book.

Elsewhere, the Sunday Mirror reports “fury” over plans for Christian Brueckner, a suspect in the disappearance of Madeline McCann, to write a tell-all book. The paper says the convicted rapist, released from a German prison last year after serving an unrelated sentence, wants to tell his side of the story.

The Sunday Telegraph leads on comments by Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, while the Sun on Sunday reports that Wayne Rooney is in advanced talks to join I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Other front pages cover care records, AI diet-pill checks, illegal knives and football.
