According to ABC News, Parramatta led Penrith 12-6 at halftime in their Round 21 Western Sydney derby on Thursday night.

Mitchell Moses opened the scoring in the fourth minute, rising to claim a Volkman kick near the posts before converting his own try. He then helped extend the Eels’ advantage in the 13th minute with a short ball for Williams, who found a gap and scored. Moses converted again for a 12-0 lead.

Penrith responded in the 18th minute after Iongi lost the ball following the restart. Thomas Jenkins managed to pass to Casey McLean, who scored in the corner, and Nathan Cleary converted from the sideline to reduce the deficit to six points.

The Panthers had further attacking chances but Parramatta held firm, including after a Volkman error inside his own 20. Penrith also lost a challenge after Talagi failed to claim a Moses kick near their goal-line.

Thomas Jenkins was sent to the sin bin late in the first half after a Bunker review found he had taken out Kelly during a grubber-kick play. He was expected to return in the 50th minute. The second half began with Parramatta kicking off.
