CAIRO, May 4 (MENA) – Egypt has condemned the targeting of infrastructure and vital facilities in the Sudanese cities of Port Sudan and Kassala at dawn on Sunday.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt underscored the necessity of preserving the capabilities of the brotherly Sudanese people, not targeting infrastructure and various civilian facilities, and conserving the unity and stability of Sudan.

Cairo also stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure harms efforts to restore stability in Sudan and hinders endeavors to enhance access to humanitarian aid, said the statement.

Egypt called for a ceasefire to preserve the capabilities of the Sudanese people, it added. (MENA)
