Eid Mubarak!
I am pleased to join with the Muslim community in New South Wales and around the world to mark the end of the Hajj and to celebrate Eid al‑Adha.
Eid al-Adha is a significant religious occasion that encourages reflection on the lessons of sacrifice.
It is a time when the Islamic tradition of offering charity and compassion to those in need is brought to the fore.
For several years now the public health crisis has made it difficult for families and friends to come together to celebrate festivals such as Eid al-Adha.
So I hope this year the Muslim Australian community can again join in prayer, share a meal, gather together and enjoy each other’s company.
On behalf of NSW Labor, I offer my best wishes to everyone celebrating Eid al-Adha.
