The Lebanese team was looking to bounce back in Saudi Arabia after a tough loss against Jordan, and they did just that.

The Lebanese team hit the ground running finishing the first quarter up by 12 with a score of 27 to 15.

The Saudis didn’t give up however, and toughened their defense fighting hard in the second quarter, and cutting the deficit down to just 3 points at the half 35-32.

Third quarter was El Darwich’s time to shine. After scoring only 2 points in the first half, he came out of the break hot, scoring 4 consecutive three pointers and a jump shot to push the Lebanese team lead to 7 at the end of the third.

The Saudis tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter but Ali Haidar’s beastly performance kept the Lebanese team on top securing a 13 point win 81 to 68.

Ali Haidar bounced back from a disappointing outing against Jordan leading his team with a game high 21 points along with 8 boards and 2 steals, making all 7 of his free throws.

Sergio El Darwich came up big in the third scoring 14 of his 16 points and draining 4 three pointers.

Ali Mansour came off the bench and provided some defensive energy for the Lebanese team coming up with 4 crucial steals and scoring 10 points to help his team win.

Mathna Almawrani led Saudi’s team with an inefficient 18 points making 7 of his 18 shots, while his teammate Mohammed Alsuwailem had a strong performance posting the only double double in the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

In the same group, the Jordanian team dominated Indonesia in a lopsided game, winning by 30 points.

This wide margin will help them maintain the lead in their group.

With this win, the Lebanese team advances to second place tying Jordan with 7 points and trailing them due to the points difference.

The Saudis fall to third place after the loss with 6 points and in last place Indonesia with 4 losses and 4 points.

Up next for Lebanon, they will face KSA at home where the Saudis will look to get their revenge in Lebanon on July 1st 2022.

And on July 4th the Lebanese team will take on the Jordanian team in Lebanon which should be the deciding game of the group where the winner will sit on top of the table, resulting in a favourable matchup in the next round and better chances to make it to the FIBA World Cup.
