Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang Juuk, attended the South Sudan Cup final between El Merreikh Bentiu and Al Ghazala Wau at the Juba National Stadium.
Hon. Atong Kuol graced the highly anticipated final match, highlighting the vital role sports play in promoting peace, unity, and reconciliation across South Sudan. She encouraged young people to embrace sports as a platform to showcase their talents and contribute positively to society.
The event attracted thousands of South Sudanese citizens, who filled the stadium with chants, dancing, and celebrations in a vibrant display of national unity and sporting spirit. Among the officials in attendance was the Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance, Hon. Malual Top.
Minister Atong Kuol arrived at the stadium with a warm smile as she witnessed citizens from different communities coming together through their shared passion for football. In her remarks, she reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting the next generation of athletes in the country, stressing that sports not only foster unity but also help promote South Sudan’s image internationally.
The thrilling match ended with El Merreikh Bentiu securing a 2–1 victory over Al Ghazala Wau to lift the South Sudan Cup trophy.
The occasion was further enriched by performances from South Sudanese cultural dance groups and local artists, reflecting the close connection between music, culture, and sports in bringing communities together.
