According to ABC News, the teaser trailer for You Can See Everything, a documentary featuring convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes and filmmaker Nathan Fielder, drew more than 2 million YouTube views in 24 hours. The one-minute, 17-second trailer centres on Holmes saying she is telling the truth while Fielder stares back.

Holmes founded Theranos, a company once valued at $US9 billion that claimed its technology could detect diseases and medical conditions using a few drops of blood. After a Wall Street Journal investigation alleged serious flaws in the technology, Theranos collapsed. Holmes was convicted on four felony counts of fraud and conspiracy in 2022, while former Theranos executive Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani was convicted on 12 fraud and conspiracy counts.

Holmes began her prison sentence in May 2023 at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas. She was ordered to pay $US452 million in restitution jointly with Balwani. The US Federal Bureau of Prisons lists her release date as February 2, 2030.

The nearly three-hour film was shot shortly before Holmes went to prison and resumes two years after her incarceration. A24 said Holmes invited a skeptical film crew to document her every move 34 days before she was sent to prison. The documentary premiered at the Telluride film festival under strict secrecy, with Deadline reporting that audience members handed over electronic devices before the screening.

A24 plans to release You Can See Everything in theatres in October, though no exact date has been announced. It is not yet available on streaming services.
