According to France 24, Ethiopian government forces advanced into the key Tigray town of Adwa after rebels withdrew, tightening their grip on the region.

The report, broadcast in France 24’s “Eye on Africa” programme, described Adwa as being near Ethiopia’s border with Eritrea. It said the advance formed part of a broader effort by Ethiopian forces to strengthen their position in Tigray.

The edition also reported that police arrested 30 people following violence across South Africa. Separately, it featured Tunisia’s ancient Sufi chants alongside pulsating electronic beats.
