Arabic version: فابيو ووردلي يؤمن إعادة مباراة مع دانيال دوبوا على لقب الوزن الثقيل
Fabio Wardley has officially activated a rematch clause to face WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois again. This announcement follows Dubois’ dramatic victory over Wardley, where he overcame two early knockdowns to win by an 11th-round stoppage in Manchester.
According to BBC News, promoter Frank Warren confirmed the existence of the rematch clause after the fight. Wardley expressed determination to reclaim his title, acknowledging that he made mistakes during their initial encounter.
The bout was noted for its intensity, with Wardley experiencing early success before suffering a damaged nose and swollen eye, leading to the referee’s intervention. This loss marked Wardley’s first defeat in his professional career, as he had previously achieved 19 victories, most by stoppage.
Dubois, now a two-time heavyweight champion, has a professional record of 23 wins and 3 losses. He had previously held the IBF title before losing it to Oleksandr Usyk in July 2025. Warren described the match as one of the best heavyweight fights he has promoted in his lengthy career.
