FIFA and the Board of Peace have entered a partnership agreement aimed at attracting investment for sustainable development in conflict-affected regions, particularly focusing on Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, the Board of Peace, established under U.S. President Donald Trump, convened to address Gaza’s reconstruction fund, contingent on the disarmament of Hamas.

The collaboration aims to establish a robust football infrastructure in Gaza, which includes the construction of 50 mini-pitches near schools and residential areas, five full-size pitches in various districts, a state-of-the-art FIFA academy, and a new 20,000-seat national stadium, FIFA said. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the significance of this partnership in facilitating recovery in post-conflict areas.

Trump said FIFA will raise $75 million for these football-related projects in Gaza. Infantino stated, “Today, FIFA and the Board of Peace have signed a landmark partnership agreement that will foster investment into football for the purpose of helping the recovery process in post-conflict areas.”

The initiative also focuses on job creation, youth participation, organized leagues for boys and girls, community engagement, and stimulating local commercial activities, aiming to provide a comprehensive approach to rebuilding the region through sports.
