According to ABC News, former Bondi Rescue lifeguard and mental health advocate Matt Dee has died. A statement posted by FTW Revolution, the clothing and events company he co-founded, said funeral arrangements and details would be shared once finalised.

Dee appeared on the Bondi Rescue reality television series from 2008 to 2017. Tributes followed the Instagram post confirming his death, including messages from the official Bondi Lifeguards account and former lifeguard Trent Maxwell, who wrote: “rest easy brother”.

FTW Revolution was founded as a suicide prevention resource for young Australians. Dee later became an ambassador for Suicide Prevention Australia, while the company said it had raised at least $500,000 for the organisation.

Dee had spoken publicly about mental health after losing his sister Rachel and brother Jonathan within a year following their battles with mental illness. His cause of death has not been publicly confirmed.
