Brendan Fagan Self, the former managing director of Vandemonian Touring, has been charged with drug-related offences including trafficking cocaine and possessing cannabis. He appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on April 30, 2026, where the details of the charges were outlined.

According to ABC News, Self is accused of trafficking cocaine in September 2025 and possessing cannabis in February 2026. The specific quantities of the substances involved in the charges have not been disclosed.

Vandemonian Touring, which Self previously managed, is known for hosting live music events in Tasmania, featuring artists such as Flume and Tones and I. The company also organized the annual Tasmanian Wine Festival and operated the now-closed Hobart Uni Bar.

During the court appearance, Self’s lawyer, Pip Monk, indicated that they were awaiting further evidence from the prosecution. While some initial disclosure had been provided, including property seizure records and search warrants, Monk stated that it was insufficient for a comprehensive defense. The case has been adjourned until July 2026 for further proceedings.
