According to BBC News, four men have been arrested after violent disorder involving a group of men in Pontnewydd, near Pontypool, south Wales.

Gwent Police said the disturbance occurred at about 19:15 on Thursday evening. Three men were taken to hospital for treatment, with two in a critical condition. Two of those arrested remain in police custody.

Specially trained firearms officers, the National Police Air Service and paramedics attended the scene, the force said. The road between Mill Road and Hospital Road is closed in both directions, and motorists have been urged to use alternative routes.

Det Ch Supt Anne-Marie Salwey said: “Violence in any form is completely unacceptable and anyone who is found to be involved in this disorder will be dealt as we will not accept this behaviour in our communities.” She said officers would be conducting enquiries in and around the area.

Police have asked anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage from Hospital Road and Mill Road between 19:00 and 19:30 on Thursday to contact them.
