According to ABC News, a four-year-old child has died after a house fire in Woodstock in central western New South Wales.

Fire crews were called to the home, about 20 kilometres north-east of Cowra, just before 3pm on Saturday. They arrived to find the property well alight.

A woman and two other children escaped the blaze, but the four-year-old was unaccounted for. Firefighters found the child’s body inside the home after extinguishing the fire.

The woman was taken to Cowra hospital in a stable condition with smoke inhalation. Police have established a crime scene and inquiries into the circumstances of the fire are continuing.
