According to ABC News, Carlton interim coach Josh Fraser will decide this week whether to enter the club’s process to appoint its next full-time coach, after the Blues’ 76-point win over Brisbane Lions at Docklands Stadium. Carlton won 24.10 (154) to 11.12 (78) in captain Patrick Cripps’s 250th career game.

Fraser has a 9-2 record since taking over following Michael Voss’s exit. He initially said he was not interested in the permanent role, but said the decision was drawing closer after the comprehensive victory. “This week I’ll come to a decision,” Fraser said. “I’m really enjoying the opportunity. I feel like in this process I’m learning so much about myself.”

Carlton had 16 individual goalkickers and scored six goals in every quarter. Jagga Smith gathered 29 possessions, recorded six clearances and kicked two goals, while Brodie Kemp kicked an equal career-high five majors. Harry Dean kicked the first AFL goal of his career. The result ended Brisbane’s seven-game winning streak and improved Carlton’s wildcard bid, with the Blues in 10th place.

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan said he was not panicking after the defeat, noting his side had won seven matches in a row before the loss. The Lions were without Ty Gallop, who received a three-game suspension, while Keidean Coleman suffered a concussion in the second quarter and Ryan Lester left the field with a shoulder injury in the third.
